Journal Criticism 3

My main criticism from this text is about whether online videos will be successful. If the ratings on the news through various mediums are decreasing, will the audience want to watch videos online, when they don’t want to watch news on the television? The problem is probably more to do with the fact that the younger generation do not have an interest on the subjects being spoken about, then it won’t matter what medium they are shown on, they will still have no interest. If the younger generations do not feel any inclination to visit the newspapers website, then they will not even notice that there are videos for them to watch. I can see why there is this addition to online pages, as it provides more depth and is it is easy to watch than read, but I do not think that this will solve the problem of decreasing ratings. Younger generations could just have different priorities and because the focus isn’t put on the television and newspapers being the only form of communication, they do not see the importance in it.

  1. i think the benefit of online news videos is that it is more accessable. i my personal opinion i am more likely to watch the news on the inet than on tv because it easy to access what news i am actually interested. i can go onto a website type in what i am interested in and then look at that particlar video. that i think is what appeals to youths on the inet

  2. Yeah good point about accessible, it's easier to watch than to read, but if the younger generation aren't bothered by news then there will be a problem getting them to the website in the first place!
